Yoga Nidra

Yoga Nidra is a state of consciousness, not the techniques that we use to go there. We experience extreme relaxation of conscious deep sleep.

In Yoga Nidra, one leaves the Waking state,

goes through the Dreaming state,

and into the Deep Sleep state,

yet remains fully awake.

During Yoga Nidra practices, we increase our awareness of:

*our 3 states of consciousness: wakefulness, dream sleep, and deep dreamless sleep;

*our 3 levels of mind: conscious, unconscious, and subconscious; and

*our three bodies: gross, subtle, and causal.

Even though it brings an incredible calmness, quietness, and clarity

Yoga Nidra goes beyond body and mental relaxation,

leading to awareness through the many levels of mental activity,

for the purpose of exploring the deep impressions of samskaras

in the latent unconscious,

to purify and release them,

so that one is able to move to the fourth state of consciousness,

that of consciousness itself,

The goal of Yoga Nidra is to release the deeper traumas

in body and mind.
