Karma Yoga

By Spirit’s direction, fees for classes and workshops are by donation at Yoga Satta, proceeds to local charities and relief organizations.  During the fall session, students donated $1440, which was disbursed as follows: $500 to Yoga Outreach, $250 to Surrey Food Bank, $250 to Surrey Women’s Centre, and $440 to the Canadian Red Cross for Haiti Relief (which I matched).

We decided to donate the first two weeks’ donations from January classes for Haiti relief to Doctors Without Borders and to the Salvation Army in equal amounts. Students donated $367, which I also matched for a total of $725. The Canadian government through CIDA matched both this and the donation to the Red Cross, bringing the total contribution to help Haiti to $2330!  February’s donations of  $371 were designated for Chile earthquake relief and March and April’s donations of $900 went to help local persons through programs offered by the Newton Advocacy Group . Thank you all who contributed so generously (and benefited by yoga classes and workshops)!

Yoga Satta involvement with the Yoga Community

*On November 16, Patricia was a guest on Drishti Point, the Vancouver Yoga Talk Show Program on Coop Radio Vancouver 102.7FM Mondays from 5 to 6 pm, expertly hosted by Farah Nazarali.  The topic was Samtosha/Contentment, the second Niyama.  To learn more about how to use samtosha to counteract the root emotion of desire, listen to the podcast at http://drishtipoint.ca/?page_id=298 .

*On December 13, Patricia was invited to lead the satsang of  the SOYA Teacher Training group on a journey through the chakras accompanied by her chakra crystal bowls— a most pleasurable time!

*In May, 2010, Patricia has been invited to return for the fourth time to the Yoga Outreach Annual Retreat to lead a Yoga Nidra workshop. She will be taking her chakra crystal bowl set for that workshop, and also for a new workshop on experiencing and energizing the chakras and nadis.

Patricia is available to lead workshops and trainings on specific yoga practices and topics for serious yoga practitioners, yoga teachers-in-training, and yoga teachers who want to deepen their yoga journeys past asana and breathwork. Watch this website for future workshops and trainings in the greater Vancouver area and Fraser Valley at yoga studios and retreats.

I am also available for private yoga sessions.
